My typical day

I'm so tired everyday...

In the morning, i'm not used to the time yet, so i get up at 5.30a.m every morning. sometimes earlier... then the first thing i do is whatsapp Jie and Jiang... who are very responsive people.. :)

Then I on my laptop (which is always on my bed) and start sifting through emails that occurred in Singapore and I follow up on some stuff... this takes me to 6.30a.m

Then I start lugging myself out of the bed, sometimes drifting in and out of sleep which takes me about 7.00 to finally drag my feet to the toilet.

Sometimes, i make breakfast for myself.. either maggiee mee, cheese sandwich or sometimes nothing at all because my office provides. Either way, I always have juice which i bought. today, maybe i'll go make pancakes... we bought some mix yesterday...

Anyway by the time i eat, change, put make up on... it takes me to 7.30 which is just enough time for me to finish my drink and go for the bus at 7.45a.m

Bus takes about 10 to 15 minutes to reach office. The team always starts off with breakfast in the canteen. I'm such an egg person.. i always eat eggs.. i always take 2 portions.. :P hee hee even when i already had my breakfast at home.. i always eat canteen breakfast too...

Work starts around 8.30a.m or 8.45a.m... and IT DOESNT STOP until 1.00p.m. Seriously, i am bombarded at work every day, every minute with things to do. It never ends, it grows....

Lunch at the canteen - they always serve rice! and sometimes beef stew, chicken fillet, fried fish etc.. it's good enough for me. I always ask for less rice.

Then back to insane and crazy work that sucks the life out of me until 6.00p.m or 7.00p.m. Take the shuttle back home and it'll stop at the groceries every wed and friday. so we are normally home around 7.00 or 7.30p.m.

I start winding down. First thing i do is try and settle dinner. My roommate and I bought lots of stuff but we are so tired when we get back, we just dont have the energy to cook. so.. most of the times, i just don't eat dinner. It's ok.. i dont feel hungry at all anyway. We'll drink water and juice and watch a few episodes of glee which is awesome. Last night, i made porridge... my roommate has never seen porridge before... haha

I have to bathe before 9 because i do not want mosquitoes to attack me. My shower is simple, fast and routine. By 9.15 i'm in bed. At this hour, Jiang has just returned from work so its good. we skype for a short while and then usually by 10, we hang up. I surf the net a bit more and check more emails...

Then i'm down for the night by 11.00p.m.

Yup. this has been my routine for the last few days. I;m exhausted. feel like i've been here for weeks instead of days. I'll use the weekend to rest up

1st day

Have arrived safely in Nairobi.

Apartment is big and spacious and well equipped....

Tired.. have a new number which is +254739729474

I can receive calls but i cannot dial out until i get credits for my sim card..

Oh well...

Anyway, wireless works wonderful in the apartment, thanks uncle yiu seng for setting it up for me. So to all, i'd rather you call me via viber or email me or whatsapp me rather than call my kenya mobile line.

The room feels very dusty but i think its because its my first day and the cleaner will start cleaning it tomorrow. we'll see..

No aircon but it has been cooling throughout the day/ night. Its my first time sleeping underneath the mosquito net.. not sure what to do with it...

Going to sleep now... kadoosh.

Oei Girl.. you pack already or not...

The big question i've been asked many times over and over by everyone.
And the answer is.. No. I have not...
And the response is... Aiyoh, why like that, you're leaving next week you know... tsk tsk *shake head*

By the way... I'm holding a farewell something at Aunty Jennifer's house on the day im supposed to go to the airport. Need to be at Airport on 19th Feb Saturday 11.00p.m. So anyone wanna come send me off, join me...:)

The food to be cooked? We've decided on it already but dont want to say. Whatever it is, it will be something everyone likes... except for aunty Jolyn (Sorry). So hope to see everyone there.

Anyway, back to packing...Well... at least i have developed this.. ultra ultra SUPER ZAI packing list. Wah!!!! Ok here goes.
